He found himself standing alone on a dry rocky land with large numbers of big crevices scattered all over. And the dusty fog that was low overhung spread everywhere. He looked around and saw nothing but desolation, which made him realized that he’d have a long way to go. With the extreme dejected mood, he began to drag his extreme tired body to move on… The cold wind blew through his brown hair and rose up his loneliness. He may not feel scared but he couldn’t hide the void inside. Without Rinoa, he was just a lonely feather that was floating aimlessly in the wind, searching for a shelter. It seemed like the land was limitless and he’s been walking like this forever. As a long time passed by, his footsteps became halting. He got really very tired and couldn’t move any longer, all his efforts was useless, he dropped himself on the land and seemed to have given up…
At the same time, Rinoa was running in the haze, looking all over for him anxiously, too. She was afraid that the dream she had before would become reality, which would mean she’d lose him from then on…after a long time’s running, she stopped her footstep despairingly at last, and held Squall’s ring that was penetrated in her necklace in hand, with her grieved eyes watching the dark sky…as she dreamed, she just wanted to see Squall so badly, to make sure that he was fine, and to be with him forever. However, she seemed so helpless at that moment. “ Is it just the destiny?” she wondered…
A piece of white feather fell lightly from the dark sky and came in his view, he stretched his hand and caught it…immediately, a tableau flashed his brain-----as if he saw Rinoa standing on the flower field in the glow of the setting sun, waiting for him. Her black hair and long blue dress was waving in the wind…He was too far away from her and was impossible to get close to her, so he called out, “Rinoa!” However, he seemed perplexed as she didn’t reply, then he called out her name again, and finally saw her turning back to him slowly. But the thing was, her face was so blurry to him that he couldn’t watch her clearly! How come!?
Suddenly, as if he went back to the night when they first met-----she smiled to him by the dance floor, and asked him to dance with her… He tried so hard to recall her appearance but it was impossible, only her slim and graceful silhouette of dancing kept swaying in his brain with the familiar waltz repeated again and again in his ears…the events that he’s met appeared endlessly and passed quickly in his brain…the missions in Dollet, Timber, Delling, Galbadia Garden and Esthar, the victory celebration for becoming a SeeD, the dance with Rinoa and the smiles he’s seen on her face, the efforts he had made to save her in space, and the faces of his companions containing confidence, fortitude, fear, excited…all of these tableaus flashed before his eyes within a short time. As if he’s passed through the time and space channel, or rather passed through the events that affected and had finally changed him…suddenly a ray of pale white light dazzled his eyes, with a drop of tear fell of his wide opened eyes, he passed out…
That piece of white feather floated down on the land lightly…
“My last night here for you, sang old songs just once more…my last night here with you? Maybe yes, maybe no…I kind of like it your way, how you shyly placed your eyes on me, oh did you ever know that I had mine on you…”
With the melodious song “Eyes on me” performing, Rinoa appeared from the haze. She went close to Squall, to her love, who was lying on the ground and had gone unconscious.
She bent her knees, supported and reclined his head on her laps cautiously, with her gaze that was full of love and miserable on his handsome but exhausted face. She caressed his face and wiped away his hair from his closed eyes, called his name lightly. At that moment, thousands of different feelings assailed her heart, making tears well up in her eyes, so she abruptly held him tightly and cried in his arms.
Just at that instant, miracle happened-----a ray of sunshine immediately penetrated the haze and shined on them, then spread fast wider and wider, until lighting up the whole land, which had immediately turned into the flower field, where they had once promised to meet each other…wind drove away all the dark clouds, and lifted thousands of petals and feathers, filling the whole sky…she raised her head and watched the sky while her black hair was swaying in the wind… they’ve returned to the flower field. The sunny blue sky, the floating petals and feathers, and the flower field…love! Anywhere was…
Darling so there you are, with that look on your face
As if you’re never hurt, as if you’re never down…
Shall I be the one for you, who pinches you softly but sure?
If frown it’s show then, I will know that you are no dreamer…

In the quiet and peaceful night sky, with stars shining brightly not far away, Balamb Garden, filled with harmony and love, was flying slowly and smoothly.
On the balcony, which was away from the disturbance of the victory celebration, Squall and Rinoa were standing together, as they promised in her dream, they were waiting to see shooting stars. After suffering that much bittersweet experience together, they’ve finally found the other half of themselves, which they’d hold fast to and never let go.
At the moment, a shooting star fell off with a bright ray behind it, and disappeared quickly in the night sky. Like the first time they met, she turned her face to him and smiled, with her index finger pointing at the sky, showing “see the shooting star? The one that belongs to us.” He caught the meaning this time, and replied her with a smile, which was seldom seen but fairly bewitching, then he went close to her, took her hand, and kissed her gently…he’s kept his promise and would cherish this valuable true love forevermore.
Garden was flying further and higher, loading her new stories, in which no one would be alone.
